We often send parts out to local machine shops to either rework to the most current revision or to be made into another part entirely.  I have not been able to find an elegant solution through GP.  Currently we transfer the parts into a REWORK location, cut a PO for rework cost, and ask Finance to add the cost of the original part to the cost of the rework to get a accurate cost.  I have to believe that there is a better way to do this.  What is everybody else doing to track purchased rework?

Thanks much!

Bill

Life is not a journey to the grave to arrive safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming.
WOW - What A RIDE!
